One great advantage with having the above ground shelter in our garage is we don’t have to go out in the weather to avoid the weather.

It took me 5 years to get a storm shelter after moving into our home. I didn’t even know where to begin, with 4 large dogs and their 2 human companions. I started googling Above Ground Shelters and came across Ms. Merry at Lake Martin Storm Shelters. I made the call and in less than a week our above ground storm shelter was installed. That same night less than 5.2 driving miles from our house or around 3 miles through the woods a tornado took out 45 or more homes. We had been safe in our shelter with the 4 dogs and a cell phone when it struck. Our pups were safe and so were we !!!! All 4 dogs are over 75lbs each with the largest at 98lbs. We had plenty of room. I can not tell you enough how great Merry and her crew were. It really was easy. I am very happy and I feel very safe with my purchase of a storm shelter. For those of you with a loved one who may need handicap accessibility, older people and those with large or many pets I strongly recommend the space that you get with the concrete shelter!!!
